The History of Pesko
Franz Konrad Pesko starts a shoemaker's shop in Bad Ragaz.
An original photograph of the shoemaker’s shop in Bad Ragaz opened in 1901.
The first sports shop in Lenzerheide is established – under the name Pesko.
Move to the current location.
Franz Pesko takes over the business with his wife Iris.
From now on, the business is remodelled every 5-6 years.
Franz Pesko hands over the business to Jürg and Manuela Pesko.
Galerie Pesko opens in the arcade of Hotel Schweizerhof.
In the arcade of Hotel Schweizerhof, the “Step In” is opened. The product selection is mainly distinguished by young fashions.
Together with PTT, the Pesko premises are a striking building in the heart of Lenzerheide. Three floors are home to new areas including the gallery and an espresso bar. The “swissrent a sport” rental centre is established and opens. The first concept store in the Alps is opened on 9 December.
Step In becomes PEAK, with a focus on snowboarding and young brands.
The Steil Alva staff quarters are built.
The Snowboard shop PEAK is reconceived, including a second floor and broad window frontage overlooking the main street.
Opening of the remodelled store with an emphasis on authentic materials such as wood, iron, stone and glass, together with organic forms and colours. More transparency and brightness as well as space take centre stage. Simultaneously, the corporate design is redeveloped. With establishment of the Pesko Outlet just below Malix, the first sports outlet store in Graubünden is opened.
The Pesko Rental Center at the new valley station for the Rothorn lifts is pioneering in its conception, realisation and customer focus. In close cooperation with Lenzerheide Bergbahnen, the Rothorn valley station opens in mid-December.
The ski rental centre at the main store is completely remodelled and greater focus is given to boot fitting – back to the roots, so to speak. The Stöckli Test Center by Pesko at the Pedra Grossa chairlift is opened. Jürg and Manuela Pesko hand the reins of the business over to Nico and Lara Pesko.
The former PEAK is now reopened as the Mammut Store, with the Namuk Pop Upstairs on the upper floor. A new shop is also opened in Chur: menswear store Alferano.
After 10 years, Pesko Rothornbahn receives a complete facelift in order to better meet its year-round needs, both summer and winter.
We are already looking forward to yet another anniversary: 111 years of Pesko.
